TEXAS DANCE HALL TOUR – FINAL DETAILED SCHEDULE
*Please note the shuttle times listed in the schedule apply to the “Texas Two Step” and “Cotton Eyed Joe” packages only. All other parties are responsible for their own transportation.*
MONDAY, MARCH 20th
Once a grand home to the Pearl Brewery’s draft horses in the late 1800s, our evening welcome reception will be held at Pearl Stable in San Antonio. We’ll provide light food and drinks, and Ray Benson will greet everyone with a short acoustic set in this charming and historic building.
TUESDAY, MARCH 21st
We have a fun-filled day planned with a private tasting of bourbon at the Ben Milam Distillery, along with Texas Two Step, Swing and Waltz lessons. We’ll also tour Blanco’s Buggy Barn, which has over 140 buggies dating back to the 1860s and there will also be a “cowboy lunch” available for purchase. Asleep at the Wheel and Dale Watson will take the stage at Twin Sisters to kick off the week of dancin’ in the halls.
WEDNESDAY, MARCH 22nd
The Texas Dance Hall Preservation will take us on a historical tour of several halls in the Hill Country during the day before we spend the evening at the gorgeous Fischer Hall with Dale and Ray (Dale Watson and Ray Benson’s new project) and Heybale featuring Tom Lewis, Redd Volkaert, Earle Pool Ball, Kevin Smith and Dallas Wayne.
THURSDAY, MARCH 23rd
We’ll be spending our day at the famous Luckenbach Texas Dance Hall! Spend some time shopping in the General Store, get some grub and enjoy the country bluegrass sound of High Plains Jamboree. After our day in Luckenbach, we’ll head to Bastrop in the early evening to get everyone who purchased “Texas Two Step” and “Cotton Eye Joe” packages settled at Lost Pines Resort & Spa.
FRIDAY, MARCH 24th
The Texas Dance Hall Preservation will be taking us on historical tours of the dance halls in Fayette County and the surrounding areas to entertain and educate us during the day before we spend the evening in Schulenburg at Sengelmann Hall with Lee Ann Womack and Hot Club of Cowtown!
SATURDAY, MARCH 25th
We are excited to have The Junk Gypsy Company, purveyors of the world’s finest junk, as one of our official Dance Hall Tour sponsors! We’ll be traveling to Junk Gypsy’s headquarters to shop and enjoy some live music. There will be coffee, wine, sack lunches and pie from Royer’s Pie Haven available for purchase; then we’ll head into Round Top to experience Antiques Week. We’ll be closing out the magical week at Fair Pavilion (Round-Up Hall) with a dance featuring Asleep at the Wheel and The Quebe Sisters!
SUNDAY, MARCH 26th
After an amazing week Sunday will sadly be check-out day, but we hope to have you back on our next one as well!
